More about this coffee:
(Provided by our importing partners at Finca Terrerito)

"Leticia, a fifth-generation coffee producer and daughter of Adelmo Lopez (owner of Finca Terrerito) acquired the farm in 2016. At the time it was a devastated 30 manzana property as a result of over farming and deforestation. The soil was dead, the land void of trees other than unkept coffee shrubs, and there was an unprotected water spring that served the local community. Witnessing the environmental and social impact, she decided to transform the land into a coffee farm to create jobs, reforest the area, and protect the water resource.

Her initiative, led with determination and compassion, deeply resonated with Finca Terrerito values, marking the beginning of a partnership rooted in effort, equity, and sustainability.

Nestled beneath the majestic Monte Tenán, Finca La Única is now a vibrant ecosystem hosting rare micro-lots and restored biodiversity. What was once pasture land is now a refuge for coffee trees, native flora, and wildlife.

The farm offers dignified infrastructure for its workers: dormitories for 50 pickers, bathrooms, kitchens with potable water, and electricity. Beyond producing high-quality coffee, La Única stands as a model of environmental regeneration and female empowerment, led by a woman who challenges traditional roles in Honduran agriculture.

Visiting La Única reveals a landscape brimming with life: rows of coffee trees intertwined with giant lemons, bunches of bananas, oranges, limes, and wild berries. Every corner tells a story of recovery, care, and abundance.

The farm generates dignified employment in a rural area, offering fair working conditions and opportunities for women in agriculture. Leticia is a beacon of leadership, resilience, and community transformation.

Active reforestation, protection of the water source, and cultivation that respects the natural environment make La Única a powerful example of responsible and regenerative production. The micro-lots grown on this restored land offer unique profiles, the result of a special terroir and carefully managed processes.

Each cup reflects the effort to transform a forgotten farm into a legacy of excellence."
